Hi all,
two questions regarding collision thickness.
I noticed that when either key framing the thickness value or adding to a connection to an animated value this doesn't update per frame and just uses the initial value. Is this just set in the solver and theres currently no way to change this?
Also is there any way to paint a thickness multiplier map? As sometimes we have surfaces with non uniform thickness and rather than break meshes up it would be useful to be able to paint a map instead but I can't see a way to do it at the moment.

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, this is probably the one large feature currently not supported.
At the moment, you cannot animate or paint thickness.
Collision in Carbon is very fast and very precise.
We have looked into animatable and paintable thickness before and unfortunately we have not found a solution to this problem that would not compromise stability or speed of our collision algorithms.
It is an ongoing research effort and we really would love to add this feature; just need to come up with the right solution.

The only workaround would be for Colliders where you would just animate and extrude the mesh.

Cheers,
Sebastian
