Here at Numerion ( numerion-software.com ) we are looking for an enthusiastic technical 3D artist to join our small team on a permanent full time basis. We specialise in virtual garment simulation and are looking for a talented technical artist with a strong interest in pushing the boundaries of virtual fabric rendering to the highest level.

This would include working with Adobe Substance 3D which is quite a technical software and hence this role is for someone with strong technical skills. Our customers range from major movie CFX/VFX studios to traditional fashion houses and start-ups bringing fashion into the Metaverse. Current projects also include participants such as the V&A museum.

We provide our “Carbon” virtual garment simulation in Houdini, Maya and Unreal Engine 5. Most often, garments we simulate are coming from design packages such as CLO 3D. Although fabric rendering is a key focus for this role, you would also have the opportunity to work with the whole garment simulation pipeline from CLO 3D through the Houdini / Maya to Unreal Engine 5 and also in other areas such as tissue and hair simulation and rendering.

Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Living in the UK, preferably within a couple of hours by train / car from London.
  • Strong technical art skills
  • High quality rendering experience
  • Strong interest in fabric rendering
  • Good understanding of the visual difference between ok and great
  • Self-motivated and ability to deliver with limited supervision

Nice to have:
  • Substance 3D experience
  • Rendering experience in general
  • Experience with Houdini and Unreal Engine
  • Good understanding of fabrics and garment design

What we offer:
  • Competitive salary / holiday etc.
  • The opportunity to develop a deep understanding of garment simulation and rendering
  • Remote working
  • Very high end workstation
  • Friendly, no bullshit, work environment
  • Equal opportunity employer

We all use the most powerful commercially available workstations for simulation / rendering and the latest software products. We all work remotely in the UK and this is also a UK based remote role. To facilitate meeting face to face occasionally and supporting our major customers, we would prefer you to live within 2hrs travel time from London.
