I can't get the Carbon (Linux) network license to work - I am getting a "No available license" message in the console.
Can you suggest the best approach to debugging the problem. Txs

Hi, Let's get your license up and running...

1) Can you run the LMX server in the foreground and look at the terminal output and check if the license is loaded and which port it is using. More help here -

IF that works then go to (2) below;
if (1) doesn't work then;

a) When you activated the licence were you logged into the account that you launch the server from ?
b) Did you put the license in the right folder? Check the folder requirements here
c) Has the ethernet id changed since you activated the license?

2) On the client side (=on each of the users' machine) you will need to add a new environment variable for the server machine to be found.
setenv NUMERION_SOFTWARE_LICENSE_PATH 6200@your machine address.

Can the client see the server - a permissions issue is usually the problem or the port is blocked.

Note that if you have Java installed on your machine you can run the LicserverClient.jar application (from the server package) and specify http://lyour machine address to remotely manage the license server. You will need to enter the password you have specified inside the lmx-srv.cfg file for certain operations. (Note: replace 6200 everywhere by your port of choice if you have changed its value in the lmx-srv.cfg file).

Hopefully the above info will allow you to pinpoint the issue.

Kind regards,
